Summer Art Lessons: Day One
(These classes were held independent from Miami's Art Department, and were scheduled and located based upon my available resources which changed throughout the classes)
Lesson One: "Drawing What You See, Not What You Know"
Objective: Be able to look past the details, and recreate the shape, outline, and eventually the surface of the object.
Activities: Drawing first the pepper, then added the banana for them to adjust their drawing and include the banana, then finally adding the vase for them to draw.

Lesson Two: Looking at Things Differently
Objective: Expanding their idea of observation, looking at the shapes within the larger shape. Followed by advancing and challenging their hand-eye coordination.
Activity: Drawing a backpack, then later drawing blind contours of each other, and then their own hands.

Lesson Three: The Bigger, The Better
Objective: Find details, magnifying your image, keep proportions accurate
Activity: Each student had to bring in an object they wanted to draw. They set it on the table, sectioned off a part of the object and drew it large enough to fill the page.

Lesson Four: Let's Apply This To Our Lives
Objective: Applying all the prior lessons of observation, detail, and focusing on a certain part of the whole.
Activity: We went to Uptown, found some benches, sat down, chose their composition they wanted to draw, and went to work.
